Legend of Quito
The legend constitutes single one of the possibilities of communication through the traditional linguistic messages, since these include/understand many forms, different from expression, romances, songs, refranes, the own legend and others. Quito is one long history of stories, legend, an oral culture that is transmitted of generation to generation.
From the same origin of its name, Quito is done of uncertainties, mysteries that hide behind their streets. The history of Exempt account with personages who made legend that became real facts, by force of as much counting them.

The Ecuadorian legend in their majority has their origin at time of the Spanish conquest. It is born of anecdotes and experiences of famous personages of that time that to the being transmitted of one to another person the popular talent is leaving its tracks until turning it a somewhat real and somewhat fictitious history.
This investigation I did it using information of different as much archivísticas sources, as of different tests and summaries as much from the legend of Quito, like of the legend and customs of whole Ecuador. Knowing the traditions and customs this beautiful Ecuador is my main importance, since at the present time our roots, our cradle as it says vulgarly are losing almost completely, since at the present time we are invaded by a foreign culture; we are letting ourselves take by the technology, now instead of listening to histories of colonial Quito, the legend of "the Hoarse Box" or "Almeida Father", or talvés to leave the afternoons with the friends the district to play rayuela, or to so many traditional games that they existed.
But however today most of us we see the television almost all the day, we heard to all volume last hit of Coldplay or in other cases of Daddy Yankey and we do not put ourselves to think awhile about that we are and of our culture. For that reason it is that this investigation is for the young people, so that they realize cultural wealth great who we have, and who young, young, adolescent, adult we, all must feel pride of those who we are. It is why I speak of Old Quito, that Quito that makes see a fantastic side you that it occurs almost always by the nights, that Quito that by means of its legend its history tells, in aim that Quito that never had to disappear.
Las leyendas son historias inverosímiles creadas a través del tiempo por el ingenio popular, en las que se refleja un poco de folcklore, mitos y costumbres de un pueblo. Las leyendas Ecuatorianas en su mayoría tienen su origen en época de la conquista española. Nace de anécdotas y experiencias de célebres personajes de ese tiempo que al ser transmitidos de una a otra persona el ingenio popular va dejando sus huellas hasta convertirla en una historia un tanto real y un tanto ficticia.
Esta investigación la hice utilizando información de diferentes fuentes tanto archivísticas, como de diferentes ensayos y resúmenes tanto de las leyendas de Quito, como de las leyendas y costumbres del Ecuador entero.
El conocer las tradiciones y costumbres de este hermoso Ecuador es mi principal importancia, ya que en la actualidad nuestras raíces, nuestra cuna como se dice vulgarmente se están perdiendo casi por completo, ya que en la actualidad estamos invadidos por una cultura extranjera; nos estamos dejando llevar por la tecnología, ahora en vez de escuchar las historias del Quito colonial, las leyendas de "La Caja Ronca" o "El Padre Almeida", o talvés salir las tardes con los amigos del barrio para jugar rayuela, o a tantos juegos tradicionales que existían. Pero en cambio hoy la mayoría de nosotros vemos la televisión casi todo el día, oímos a todo volumen el último hit de Coldplay o en otros casos de Daddy Yankey y no nos ponemos a pensar un rato en quien somos y de nuestra cultura.
Por eso es que esta investigación es para los jóvenes, para que se den cuenta de la gran riqueza cultural que tenemos, y que nosotros niños, jóvenes, adolescentes, adultos, todos debemos sentir orgullo de quienes somos. Es por eso que hablo del Quito Antiguo, ese Quito que te hace ver un lado fantástico que se da casi siempre por las noches, ese Quito que por medio de sus leyendas cuenta su historia, en fin ese Quito que nunca debió desaparecer.
- Recordar las tradiciones quiteñas, porque crecimos escuchando siempre hablar de ellas, tanto a nuestros padres como a nuestros abuelos.
- Admirar la cultura fantástica de estas leyendas por el valor y la importancia que da a cada uno de sus personajes manteniéndonos pendientes desde el comienzo hasta el fin..
- Ayudar a mantener vivas las costumbres y tradiciones en cada uno de los jóvenes y de las futuras generaciones.
